4.1 - People
Galp shall select and appoint persons with the competences and awareness needed for the management of its system on a daily basis, ensuring compliance with this framework.
Galp shall ensure that persons are competent on the basis of education, training and/or experience.
Galp shall guarantee that the persons that conduct risky / critical activities, under its control, possess the physical, mental and technical aptitude needed for the correct execution of those functions.

Galp shall ensure that persons that work in the organisation, or on its behalf, are aware:
- of the mission, vision and values of Galp;
- of the management policy(ies) and code of ethics and conduct;
- of the strategic and operational objectives;
- of the strategic guidelines;
- of their contribution towards the effectiveness of the management system, including the benefits of improved performance;
- of the implications of non-compliance with the requirements of the framework, including not complying with the obligations of legal compliance;
- of their role in emergency scenarios.
Framing
The Organisation must identify the people who are required to operate and control their processes and ensure that they are available. It must consider, in addition to existing internal collaborators, the possibility of resorting to outsiders.
People are an Organisation’s most important asset. In an increasingly competitive environment, organisations must value their people. Galp must create optimal conditions for attracting, developing and retaining employees' talents, as well as creating an empowering culture for achieving both organisational and personal goals.
The behavioural and technical competences (competence is understood to be the ability to apply knowledge and have the skills to achieve the desired results) - that are necessary for the execution of each task should be defined.
Galp must ensure that the people working under its control (suppliers and visitors included) are aware of the importance of being in line with the defined strategy and with the recommended principles of action as well as their contribution to improving Galp's performance. Awareness can be developed through communication, training and/or awareness-raising actions.

4.4 - Infrastructures, equipment and other resources
Categories
Framing
The Organisation must identify the necessary resources, namely infrastructures, equipment and technologies, and ensure that they are available. It must consider, in addition to existing internal collaborators, the possibility of resorting to using external resources.
It is necessary to ensure the operability of the infrastructures and equipment. In addition to the development of preventive maintenance plans, periodic replacement in accordance with useful life cycles and the acquisition of safer, less polluting and more energy-efficient technologies that ensure more reliable and reproducible results must be a constant concern.
